Building in Anderson County
Anderson County runs from the Greenville line down to Lake Hartwell along I-85. The city of Anderson has AnMed Health, Anderson University and a downtown Main Street that has come back to life. The northern end of the county, Powdersville, Piedmont and Wren, is one of the fastest growing areas in the Upstate because it is 15 minutes from Greenville on I-85 or SC-153. The southern and western ends, Belton, Honea Path, Starr, Iva and Townville, are still farm country with lots priced well under Greenville County. Big employers include AnMed, First Quality, Bosch, Michelin’s Sandy Springs plant and the Clemson University campus just across the Pickens line. Anderson County has five school districts; District 1 in Powdersville and Williamston, District 2 in Belton and Honea Path, and District 5 in the city of Anderson are the ones most of our buyers ask about. Lake Hartwell is 20 minutes from almost anywhere in the county.
